(Sports Network) - Veteran Tim Wakefield aims for a second defeat of Detroit in 2008 and the 15th of his career tonight when the Boston Red Sox take on the Tigers in the second game of a four-game set at Comerica Park.
Wakefield, who'll be 42 in August, earned a 12-6 decision against Detroit on April 10 at Fenway Park. In that game, the right-handed knuckleballer allowed three hits and an unearned run in five innings.
Lifetime against Detroit, he is 14-10 in 33 games - 21 starts - with a 4.41 earned run average.
Wakefield dropped a 3-0 decision to Toronto in his last start on May 1, allowing six hits and three runs in seven innings.
