Los Angeles Dodgers (17-13) at Colorado Rockies (11-19), 3:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers target their ninth straight win this afternoon when they try and complete a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

Los Angeles, which started its tear by sweeping the Rockies last weekend, continued to roll on Saturday, as James Loney hit a three-run homer, doubled and drove in six runs, lifting the Dodgers to a 12-7 win.

Russell Martin and Jeff Kent each knocked in two runs for the Dodgers, who are in the midst of their best stretch since reeling off 11 straight wins from July 28-August 8, 2006.

Hong-Chih Kuo (1-1) earned the win with 3 2/3 innings of one-run, three-hit, five-strikeout ball in relief of Esteban Loaiza, who allowed five runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings.

Brad Hawpe went 3-for-5 with a home run and four runs batted in for the Rockies, who have lost nine of 11. Matt Holliday added a solo homer for Colorado, while Garrett Atkins doubled and scored two runs.

Jorge De La Rosa (0-1) was shelled in his first start since being acquired from Kansas City on Wednesday. De La Rosa allowed nine runs on nine hits in four-plus innings, while Jason Grilli was tagged for two runs in an inning- plus of relief.

Hoping to extend the streak for the Dodgers today will be right-hander Derek Lowe, who is 2-1 with a 2.88 ERA. Lowe received a no-decision on Tuesday against the Florida Marlins, as he gave up six runs (three earned) and eight hits in five innings of his team's 7-6 win.

Lowe is 5-5 lifetime against the Rockies with a 5.08 ERA.

Colorado will counter with red-hot right-hander Aaron Cook, who has won his last four starts. Cook's latest win came on Tuesday in San Francisco, as he held the Giants to two unearned runs and 10 hits in seven frames to improve to 4-1 on the season, while lowering his ERA to 2.41.

Cook has faced the Dodgers 15 times (10 starts) and is 3-5 against them with a 4.74 ERA. However, he is 0-4 against them in five starts since the beginning of the 2006 season.

Colorado won 12 of the 18 matchups between the teams a year ago, including wins in the final seven games.
