Baltimore Orioles (16-14) at LA Angels of Anaheim (19-13), 3:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim close out a three-game weekend set with the rubber match at Angel Stadium today. . Jon Garland cruised through eight innings on Saturday, allowing only three hits and one earned run yesterday in helping the Angels to a 3-1 victory.

Garland (4-3) gave up two singles and a run in the top of the second then settled down, allowing only a one-out Melvin Mora double in the seventh through six scoreless innings the rest of the way. He finished the game with one walk and one strikeout.

Gary Matthews Jr. knocked in two runs with two sacrifices and Reggie Willits had two hits while knocking in one for the Angels, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Chone Figgins did the dirty work on the basepaths, scoring the winning and insurance runs, drawing two walks and stealing a base.

The Angels' red-hot first baseman Casey Kotchman came into the game second in the AL in average with a team-leading 20 RBI but left four runners on base including two in scoring position, going 0-for-4.

Angels' left fielder Garret Anderson was ejected for only the third time in his career in the seventh arguing balls and strikes.

Daniel Cabrera (2-1) was mildly effective through 7 1/3 innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Cabrera's past control problems came back to bite him in the later innings with a hit batter, walk and a wild pitch that set up all three runs to score. Luke Scott knocked in the only run for Baltimore, which has lost three of their last four.

The Orioles are 6-8 on the road and won't play in Baltimore again until May 13

Veteran Steve Trachsel has struggled early on for Baltimore, as he is just 1-3 with a 6.08 ERA. He has walked 17 batters while striking out only 11 through five starts, and opponents are hitting .283 against him. Despite surrendering four earned runs and five hits in only three innings of work last Saturday against the White Sox, Trachsel was not handed a loss. He is slated to get the ball today.

The Baltimore righty is 2-2 all-time against the Angels with a 5.14 ERA.

Saunders is the first Angels' pitcher in 30 years to go 5-0 in the month of April, and that stellar record goes along with an equally impressive 2.08 ERA. He pitched eight innings of shutout ball en route to a victory over Oakland on Tuesday and is 2-0 at home this season with a 1.88 ERA.

Saunders is 2-0 lifetime versus the Orioles with a 4.91 ERA.

The Angels won seven of 10 versus the Orioles last year, including three of four at home, and are 18-10 against them since the start of the 2005 season.
