San Diego Padres (11-19) at Florida Marlins (16-13), 7:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Jake Peavy takes aim at his first win in four starts this evening when the San Diego Padres continue their three-game series with the Florida Marlins at Dolphin Stadium.

Peavy opened the year with three straight wins, but had a pair of no-decisions after that and suffered his first loss of the season his last time out on Sunday against Arizona. Peavy gave up two runs and four hits over seven innings in that one, as he fell to 3-1 on the season to go along with a 2.09 earned run average.

San Diego has lost Peavy's last three starts, despite him pitching to a 2.57 ERA in that time.

The 26-year-old right-hander has faced the Marlins seven times and is 3-4 against them with a 3.15 ERA.

Florida will counter with 25-year-old right-hander Ricky Nolasco, who is 1-2 with a 5.13 ERA. Nolasco had his finest outing of the season on Sunday against Milwaukee, but did not factor in the decision of his team's 3-2 win. Nolasco surrendered a run and two hits in five innings of that one.

Nolasco is 0-1 lifetime agianst the Padres with a 4.70 ERA in two games (one start).

In the first game of this set on Friday, Dan Uggla went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and four RBI to lead Florida to a 6-4 win. Luis Gonzalez also added a solo homer for the Marlins, who snapped their season-long three-game skid.

Mark Hendrickson (5-1) got the win by scattering five hits and three runs over seven innings of work. Kevin Gregg got his fifth save of the year, despite allowing a run on two hits in the ninth.

Kevin Kouzmanoff had four hits and Khalil Greene hit a two-run home run for the Padres, who lost for the second time in a row and for the ninth time in their last 11 tries.

Justin Germano (0-3) absorbed the loss after he was touched for six runs -- five earned -- on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings of work. Germano has made 11 appearances, eight starts, since his last victory.

The Padres went 4-3 against the Marlins last season, with a 2-1 mark as the guest. They are 11-9 in the last 20 matchups in this series.
