Arizona Diamondbacks (3-2) at Colorado Rockies (1-4), 3:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies swept the Arizona Diamondbacks in last year's National League Championship Series, but the Snakes have an opportunity to turn the tables on their division rivals when the teams wrap up a three- game set this afternoon at Coors Field.

Arizona has won the first two tests of this series and received outstanding pitching in both games. After Micah Owings and two relievers limited Colorado's slumping offense to two hits in Friday's 8-1 rout, D-Backs ace Brandon Webb delivered a gem to lead his club to a 7-2 triumph last night.

Webb (2-0) held the Rockies to two runs -- one earned -- and five hits over seven innings to win his second straight start to begin the season. The 2006 NL Cy Young Award winner struck out five and walked just one in his 98-pitch effort.

Chris Young supplied the power for the Diamondbacks by belting a pair of homers and driving in three runs, while teammate Justin Upton also homered and finished 3-for-5. The two Arizona outfielders have each went deep three times on the young season, which ties Philadelphia's Chase Utley for the most in the majors thus far.

Conor Jackson also collected three hits for the Diamondbacks and Stephen Drew ended 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Colorado's Todd Helton homered for a second straight game in the loss, the Rockies' fourth straight since an Opening Day victory over St. Louis. Starting pitcher Jeff Francis was roughed up for five runs and 12 hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Arizona will be aiming for its first three-game sweep in Coors Field since July 7-9, 2006. The club will hand the ball to swingman Edgar Gonzalez in this afternoon's finale.

Gonzalez was a valuable contributor to the Diamondbacks' 2007 NL West championship, as the Mexican native compiled an 8-4 record with a 5.03 earned run average while shuffling between the rotation and long relief. He begins this season as a starter with Randy Johnson starting out the year on the disabled list while recovering from back surgery.

The 25-year-old Gonzalez hopes to improve upon some awful career numbers at Coors Field. In five previous appearances, including two starts, in Denver, he has been tagged for 15 runs, 19 hits and five homers in just 9 2/3 total innings.

Gonzalez is 2-2 with a 9.00 ERA in eight overall outings (2 starts) against the Rockies.

Colorado counters today with phenom Franklin Morales, who opened eyes by posting a 3-2 record and a 3.43 ERA in eight starts after being called up from the minors last August. All three of those victories came during the Rockies' September stretch run, and the hard-throwing 22-year-old recorded an excellent 2.88 ERA during last season's final month.

Morales did not face the Diamondbacks during last year's regular season, but threw four innings of one-run ball in a start against Arizona in the deciding Game 4 of the NLCS.

Colorado went 10-8 against Arizona last season in addition to its four-game sweep of the D-Backs in the NLCS. However, the Diamondbacks are 19-11 at Coors Field in regular-season games dating back to 2005.
