New York Mets (1-1) at Florida Marlins (1-1), 7:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Marlins fans aren't likely to forget Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis anytime soon. However, Andrew Miller will try to help push that duo a little further out of the minds of Florida fans when he takes the hill against the New York Mets in tonight's finale of a three-game series at Dolphin Stadium.

Miller, one of the six players acquired from Detroit for Cabrera and Willis, will make his Marlins debut tonight. The 22-year-old left-hander is considered one of the top players in the deal, along with outfielder Cameron Maybin.

Maybin, though, began the year in Double-A, while Miller is in the starting rotation. A 6-foot-6 sixth overall pick by Detroit in 2006, Miller went 5-5 with a 5.63 earned run average in 13 starts with the Tigers last year.

Miller will be trying to give the Marlins a season-opening series win tonight. After dropping the first test of this set by a 7-2 margin on Monday, Florida counted with a 10-inning, 5-4 victory on Tuesday in Miami.

The Marlins used the long ball to top the Mets, as Robert Andino blasted his first-career homer in the extra frame off Matt Wise (0-1). Dan Uggla hit a two-run home run and Luis Gonzalez added a solo shot. Hanley Ramirez also drove in a run and scored.

Justin Miller (1-0) gave up one hit in a scoreless inning of work to get the win, while starter Rick VandenHurk gave up three runs on six hits in three- plus innings of work. However the bullpen, including Miller, allowed just one run and three hits the rest of the way.

Not only did the Mets lose the game, but also lost Pedro Martinez. The right- hander didn't see the end of the fourth inning, surrendering four runs on four hits in 3 1/3 frames. He injured his left leg on a pitch during the fourth frame and was helped off the field by the team trainer. The diagnosis was a strained left hamstring and he is slated to undergo an MRI in New York on Wednesday.

Brian Schneider finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and Angel Pagan drove in a pair of runs for the Mets. Jose Reyes also plated a run in the setback, just New York's second in its last 11 trips to Florida. New York has still won 12 of its last 20 against the Marlins.

Left-hander Oliver Perez takes the hill for the Mets tonight. After a poor 2006, split between New York and Pittsburgh, Perez was a solid contributor for the Mets in 2007, going 15-10 with a 3.56 ERA in 29 starts. He also struck out 174 batters over 177 innings.

Perez, 26, is just 3-3 with a 5.20 ERA in 10 lifetime starts versus the Marlins, though he won his lone start in Florida last year and is 2-1 at Dolphin Stadium in his career.
